A little bit of countryside, a little bit of coast – and a place to slow down. Coombehayes is our home. We’re lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful corners of the country, surrounded by countryside and just minutes from Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coast and South West Coast Path. We’ve created our holiday accommodation because we love sharing this special place with other people.
Coombehayes sits on the edge of 19 acres of pasture just a few minutes walk from Uplyme village green. We are not a working farm so no noise, no mess! But, during the spring and summer months, you can enjoy watching the cows graze our fields. We offer guests a private footpath across our land, directly to the East Devon Way and River walk into Lyme. The village itself is just a few minutes stroll, with a village green, playground, tennis court and shop. It’s peaceful here, but never feels remote.
We love the fact that you can spend the morning walking along the coast, have lunch overlooking the sea, and be back at Coombehayes in the afternoon, away from the crowds and surrounded by countryside. It’s this combination that makes this location so special.
We want our guests to feel comfortable here. That means good beds, well-equipped kitchens, thoughtful little touches and plenty of information to help you make the most of the area. And if you need us, we’re nearby.
We’re lucky to live in such a beautiful environment, and we want to look after it. Coombehayes is partly powered by solar energy and heated by an efficient wood-pellet boiler. We make recycling easy, use eco-friendly cleaning products and refillable soap dispensers, and try to minimise unnecessary use of tumble dryers. And because there are so many wonderful walks and cycle routes from our doorstep, you can leave the car behind and explore much of the area on foot or by bike.
We’re not a large holiday company. Coombehayes is our home, and we want you to feel welcome here. We’ve created our accommodation to be comfortable, relaxed and somewhere we’d be happy to stay ourselves. Come and enjoy the coast. Explore the countryside. Eat well. Sleep well. And perhaps, for a few days, forget about the rest of the world.
Spend the morning fossil hunting on the beach. Walk along the Cobb. Find a hidden café for lunch. Follow the South West Coast Path along the cliffs. Or simply find a sunny spot and watch the world go by. Lyme Regis is a town that rewards you for taking your time. And when you’ve had enough of the seafront, Coombehayes is just a short journey home.
